WHAT IS BLOOD PRESSURE :

  • Blood pressure is not a disease so long as the pressure of any individual remains within a normal level.( 120/80)

Types of BP

  • There are two types of blood pressures as we all know as High blood pressure (HBP) and Low blood pressure (LBP)
  • High blood pressure, unless deducted earlier and treated can lead to coronary heart disease, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure and other health problems.
  • To avoid above said health problems, it is very important that one should know about their blood pressure number/condition, even when you are feeling fine.   • “Blood pressure” level for people having high blood pressure may go ( stage 1) systolic between 140-159 and diastolic between 90-99
  • For most adults aged 18 and older, blood pressure levels above 120/80 raise your risk, and the risk increases as the blood pressure levels rise.
  • “ prehypertension” means you are likely to end up with HBP, unless you take steps to prevent it.
  • NORMAL BLOOD PRESSURE

    As we all know, normal blood pressure of a healthy person should be 120/80 at any given point of time. However, this may be at times slightly more or less for some people due to certain reasons but may not be because of hypertension. Normal Blood pressure for those who are above 50 years of age can even go above 130/90 because of their age.

    WALKING: Make a habit of walking at least for half an hour daily during early morning hours with empty stomach (after taking few classes of water) is best to maintain your blood pressure to normal.

    FOOD HABITS: Must avoid taking salty food items and try to minimize salt in all your foods. Better to avoid taking fatty foods, red meats etc. Prefer more vegetables and fresh/seasonal fruits. Drink more water and fruit juices.

    ALCOHAL: Drinking alcohol may be given up completely
